As CoVID-19 is spreading across the world, everyone has been affected in different ways. If we want to stop the virus from spreading too fast, we have to abide by quarantine rules, but this poses a problem since offices are closed, travel is restricted and all workers face major problems to manage to keep their jobs.

What is Zoom used for?
The main goal of the platform is to simplify remote communication for work meetings, online classes and different forums. If you need to carry out a video conference, but you want it to be easy to use, quick and with few limitations, we recommend downloading Zoom.
Skype was once the favourite tool for video calls, but Zoom has taken its place and removed Microsoft’s software from the top of the list, since this new platform contains many useful features in a more streamlined package with easier controls and less restrictions. You can use Zoom to keep in touch with your colleagues by video calls, schedule online meetings and even perform collaborative tasks.
If you’re looking forward to downloading this software for your computer, smartphone or tablet, let us tell you the basics so you have an idea of all the wonderful things that you can do with Zoom.
Host online meetings
Let’s start generally, as the primary function of Zoom is to perform video conferences. For this you can create and host a meeting or you can join someone else’s meeting. If you’re the one hosting, you can set up different aspects of the meeting according to the purpose for which you are using the call.
If you want to show your work to the other participants of the conversation, Zoom lets you share your screen with them during the meeting. That way you can perform a presentation live using very simple steps, as you can share music and sounds as well. While this option is available to the host, you can also let other participants share their screens if they wish to.
Information sharing is required in any conference, since the participants need to show facts to support what they’re saying. If you have an important document that you want to show to the other participants, you can use the file-sharing tab, in which you’ll find different applications like Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, to share the documents or just upload them from your PC for the rest of the audience.
As the host of a meeting, you can set the chat option so all the participants can exchange messages during the video conference. If you don’t want your participants to get distracted, you can set the preferences for them to exchange messages with the host only, everyone publicly or everyone publicly and privately.
While casual conversation doesn’t generally need to be recorded, work conferences and classes can be pretty useful to save, since you can use this recording to share it with everyone who is interested in it later. Of course this option is only available to the host of the meeting.
